20/11/2008 : If you look close enough, you can trace the casual roots of today's Nintendo back to the GameCube's quirky runaway phenomenon, Animal Crossing. The game's latest incarnation, Animal Crossing: City Folk feels and plays extremely natural on Nintendo's flagship family-friendly console and feels right at home with wii-mote and nunchuck in hand. For gamers taking their first trip to Animal Crossing, City Folk will be paradise. For fans of both the original as well as the DS incarnation, it might be a bit too familiar of a journey.

20/11/2008 : The blue bomber is back. This is not your “Battle Transmission Network Tiger Versus” Mega Man either. This is the vintage, side-scrolling, pixilated Mega Man of old. So old, in fact, that Capcom and developer Inti Creates have purposively brought the series back to its roots. Mega Man 9 draws straight from arguably the franchise’s best -- Mega Man 2. There Test de Mega Man 9 sur Wii, chez Nintendojo.
20/11/2008 : Two decades have passed since the Star Wars franchise dropped out of hyperspace and into the public’s hearts. 20/11/2008 : From the far reaches of space, Nintendo sends WiiWare on an elegant and trippy voyage through the stars. A remake of a Japanese bit Generations game, Art Style: ORBIENT attempts to be accessible while also surprisingly difficult to master -– by no means a simple task. 20/11/2008 : In most cases, people would complain about getting only half of a game. With Bomberman Blast, gamers get the standalone multiplayer version of the latest Bomberman title for Wii. While the retail version contains the entire game, there is absolutely no single player or story to be found in the WiiWare version. But it’s Bomberman we’re talking about, here. Who needs plot motivation to blast friends into oblivion?

20/11/2008 : Building houses, assembling robots, putting together cars -- it seems like LEGO blocks are good for just about anything. 20/11/2008 : Earlier this year, the many folks assembled at Namco Bandai's Editors' Day event snickered and groaned at the goofy promotional video that introduced We Cheer. The game is, after all, unapologetically cute-- bobble-headed anime cheerleader girls, with plasticine smiles and rainbow-colored hair, strut, bounce and sway to the sunniest pop soundtrack to hit Wii since Boogie. Yet perhaps more distinctly, it's about cheerleading: there's nothing macho about it, and Test de We Cheer sur Wii, chez Nintendojo.
20/11/2008 : The biggest game of the decade is in one of gaming's newest genres. In the 80s it was Super Mario Bros. In the 90s it was Super Mario 64. But in this decade, without platforms, powerups, or plumbers, it's Guitar Hero. That surprise PlayStation 2 hit spawned more that just a gaming franchise, it spawned a gaming style.

20/11/2008 : Last year's MySims, an offshoot of the Sims franchise originally developed with younger and more casual Nintendo players in mind, released last year to mixed reviews but solid sales. The development team knew it was on to something potentially bigger, so for this year's MySims Kingdom, the experience is refreshingly enhanced and, with its added content and features, seems to have found the missing, magic ingredients to make this new franchise just as much a keeper as it was last year a sleeper.

20/11/2008 : As with MySims Kingdom, another sequel that was more spiritual than literal, Boogie Superstar is a reinvention of what preceded it last year. In some ways, this is wise-- key gameplay elements are either less broken or more challenging-- but a bit of the spirit and soul of the original Boogie has been lost by morphing the game from a story-based song and dance adventure into an American Idol knock-off. Then again, the previous game's story Test de Boogie Superstar sur Wii, chez Nintendojo.
20/11/2008 : Since Wii’s release, a total of three Spider-Man titles (not including spinoffs like Marvel: Ultimate Alliance) have graced the console to date.
