■ 30/09/08 - The Last Guy Proof that big things come in small packages is no less apparent in The Last Guy, a decidedly simple, yet horribly addictive PlayStation Network offering from the boys over at Sony Computer Entertainment’s Japan Studio. However, don’t let this stripped-down affair deceive you; The Last Guy stands shoulder to shoulder with some of the PSN’s biggest titles of the year in terms of pure entertainment value.

■ 25/09/08 - The Last Guy Just when you thought that game designers couldn’t come up with an original idea, leave it to three crazy guys tucked away in a cabin in the Himalayas to create one of the most unique PS3 titles of the year. The Last Guy has a story not unlike most survival horror games or zombie movies. An unexplained purple light blasted the Earth and anybody who was caught outdoors got turned into a zombie. Use that excuse the next time your mom tells you to “go outside and play”. Everyone who was indoors survived and now you must travel to 15 cities, find the survivors, and lead them back to designated Escape Zones so they can be evacuated. Simple…right? ■ 22/09/08 - The Last Guy So it turns out the guy you need when the zombie apocalypse happens isn’t actually a soldier or biologist; it’s the nerd that spends all his time on Google Maps. In a world suddenly filled with shuffling killers and giant bugs, you play as a lone, friendly zombie, leading lines of refugees to safety across detailed satellite images of real world locations. ■ 20/09/08 - The Last Guy The PSN has recently become the place to go for independent games that are definitely out of the ordinary, and The Last Guy is definitely not ordinary. The game features a top down Google Maps like view, and a promising idea of leading survivors from a zombie outbreak to safety. As interesting as some titles can be can it propel itself out niche only territory?

■ 16/09/08 - The Last Guy Do we have a name for this genre? I can't remember. "Escort game" probably sends the wrong signal. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers - and The Last Guy, in which you dodge monsters and escort frightened civilians across satellite images of famous cities, can't be easily pigeonholed.Test de The Last Guy sur Playstation 3, chez EuroGamer.
